The Presidio Trust and the US Geological Survey presents a series of free lectures featuring current science and earthquake history. Topics and speakers include:

“Discriminating Disaster Relief: Women and Minority Refugees after the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and Fire”
Speaker: Andrea Davies Henderson, Adjunct Professor, Stanford University

“The Great 1906 San Francisco Fire: Was it Inevitable?”
Speaker: Frank Blackburn, San Francisco Assistant Fire Chief, ret.

“Family Stories of 1906: Photographs and Letters”
Richard Torney tells how his great-grandfather, Presidio Lt. Col. George Torney, prevented the spread of contagious disease throughout the city. See rare family photographs of the city in ruins. Jeff Bundschu reads family letters recounting the devastation to their family winery and home.
