Commemorative Earthquake Walks

Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District

Docents will lead walks at the junction of the Pacific and North American plates where you will learn about local geology and earthquakes. On this 2- to 3-mile stroll, youíll discover remnants of the effects of the 1906 earthquake, discuss plate tectonics, and discuss how to prepare for future earthquakes.

Relevance

This year marks 100 anniversary of the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake. All of the earthquake walks offered by the District at Los Trancos Preserve during 2006 (once or more per month) will commemorate the natural disasterís occurrence.
