Chanticleer: Earthquake Mass
Chanticleer, the internationally-acclaimed, 12-man vocal ensemble, marks the centenary of San Francisco's "Great Quake" of 1906 with performances of Antoine Brumel's Earthquake Mass (Missa Et ecce terrae motus).
Named for the Easter antiphon (and behold the earth moved), Brumel's Earthquake Mass is a complex, grandly-scaled and deeply moving work. Chanticleer performs the Earthquake Mass in three striking venues in the Bay Area:
- Grace Cathedral on March 24 and 31, 2006
- Mission Santa Clara on March 25, 2006
- St. Mark’s Church on April 1, 2006
