Disaster Preparedness Training (Free)

Neighborhood Emergency Response Team Training (NERT)

NERT is offering a free comprehensive disaster preparedness training session. Taught by San Francisco Firefighters, class covers personal preparedness mitigation and response to earthquakes and other disasters. Session topics include:

Upon course completion, a certificate & ID will be issued. After the training, volunteers can be connected to other residents in their neighborhoods who have completed NERT training. There are many leadership opportunities in assisting a residential blocks or associations prepare together. Advance NERT training opportunities are available throughout the year.

Relevance

Disaster preparedness training will teach residents how to prepare for and respond after an earthquake. This program was created as a direct result of the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989.

Audience

General public. Free event.

Volunteer Opportunities
